Rotary Youth Leadership Awards
For the past 8 years Andover has organised Rotary Youth Leadership Award programmes on behalf of District 1110. These take place on successive weekends in July and now cater for upwards of 50 young people in the 16 - 17 years age group. The courses are held at Avon Tyrrell Residential Centre in the New Forest and the programme is designed to improve the students' leadership, teamwork and communication skills.
Young Chef 2011 / 2012 Competition
Our Young Chef contestants put up a great show at the Group 5 competition but were narrowly
beaten by some very experienced young women from South Wiltshire Grammar and Godolphin
respectively. Our youngsters represented us well and live to fight another day.
Young Photographer 2011 / 2012 Competition
The exhibition and prize giving will be on 17th January 2012at 6.30pm. Winton School. Judges
include Hannah Powell from the Andover Advertiser photographer. We have entrants in two age categories.
Annual Youth Speaks Competition
The Andover Rotary Youth Speaks Competition has been running for over thirty years.
Teams from the Andover schools and college compete each January and may then progress to the Rotary District and National Finals. This year's local competition will take place on Monday 2rd January 2012 at Rookwood School.
