Rotary Youth Leadership Awards
For the past 8 years Andover has organised Rotary Youth Leadership Award programmes on behalf of District 1110. These take place on successive weekends in July and now cater for upwards of 50 young people in the 16 - 17 years age group. The courses are held at Avon Tyrrell Residential Centre in the New Forest and the programme is designed to improve the students' leadership, teamwork and communication skills.
Annual Youth Speaks Competition
The Andover Rotary Youth Speaks Competition has been running for over thirty years.
Teams from the Andover schools and college compete each January and may then progress to the Rotary District and National Finals. This year's local competition took place on Monday 25th January 2010 at Harrow Way Community School.
A huge amount of commitment and enthusiasm was shown by all of the competitors. Standards were so high that judging the event proved to be a real challenge. The full results and links to external articles written about the evening may be found here.
Successful Music Festivals have been sponsored and organised enabling Andover's young musicians to come together in a public concert.
