The Rotary Club of Andover has earned a reputation for:
- Providing regular financial support to the Countess of Brecknock Hospice
- Supporting other local and national charities such as Riding for the Disabled, Icknield School, Kids' Church, The Acorns Centre, MacMillan Nurses, Cancer Relief
- Organising the annual 10K Race and Fun Run at Thruxton Motor Racing Circuit
- With the Andover Round Table, organising an annual fireworks display.
- Running the annual Youth Speaks competition
- Sponsoring a volunteer working abroad under the Voluntary Service Overseas Scheme
- Educating secondary pupils in Kenya through the Langalanga Scholarship Fund
- Organising the Rotary Youth Leadership Award in Hampshire
- Providing bags of wood kindling for old people who rely on coal fires in their homes
- Organising the annual Good Service Awards
- Holding Bingo sessions during the winter at Nursing Homes in Andover
- Distributing Christmas parcels
- Providing AquaBoxes and Shelter Boxes containing clean water kits and domestic essentials to numerous 'disaster' areas across the world
A Distinguished History
The Club has a long and distinguished history dating back to its Inauguration in November 1949.
In November 2009, the Club celebrated the 60th Anniversary of it's innauguration. A celebration dinner was held. There is also still the opportunity to read about the 50th Anniversary celebration held at Tedworth House in Tidworth in 1999.
Since 1949, many members have served the Club as President.
Others have received the Paul Harris Fellowship Award for exceptional service.
